If you don’t live under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the crazy phenomenon called clownpocalypse! I, absolutely, HATE clowns so this is terrifying for me. At first, I thought this nightmare was only happening in the United States but (according to CNN) these freaks are popping up across the pond in the United Kingdom and as far away as Australia. So, if you’re itching to travel but want to avoid clowns – Go Here, Not There to survive the clownpocalypse!

NORTH AMERICA:

The most reported clown sightings have been in the United States so if you’re headed to North America – Go Here: Canada, Not There: United States. Canada has beaches, mountains, and quaint European-like cities. Not to mention, things are cheaper in Canada! My favorite cities are Vancouver, Montreal, Toronto and Quebec City.

OCEANIA

While there haven’t been as many sightings in Australia as there have been in the U.S., that doesn’t mean that the phenomenon won’t catch steam.  So, Go Here: New Zealand, Not There: Australia – and you can hang with the Kiwi’s instead of the Aussies. Update: It seems there’s been at lease one clown sighting in NZ since I wrote this post so be alert and if you’d like to visit another country in this region, I suggest Fiji!

UNITED KINGDOM:

Of course, England is a beautiful country and there’s plenty to see, do and eat but the clown population is starting to rise. If your heart is set on visiting the UK then skip England and opt for Scotland. With lush green landscapes, romantic castles, and a unique heritage, you can’t go wrong!

NOT THERE: ENGLAND

Obviously, this post is meant to be fun and lighthearted and I would NEVER, intentionally, advocate against a country/region, or area. 🙂 To summarize, and quote the great Carrie Bradshaw, “nothing’s scarier than a clown!”
